  Digg my article
How high is the pile on your plate?

Dear Friend,

A few years ago in a survey conducted by Roper Worldwide and published in Newsweek, 1,000 adults were asked to complete a survey on what was truly important in their lives.

  • 94% rated "the freedom of choice in how to live my life" as priority number one.
  • 89% rated "the chance to have a good family life" as number one.

Family and freedom both outranked "owning my own home" (70%), "a rewarding career" (70%), and "to be able to afford to do the things you want to do" (66%).

It seems that we live in a world that desires harmony. If you've attended The Power to Win Weekend or completed any of my books or audio programs, you know I'm a firm believer in this concept. Even though Harmonic Wealth® is desired, it's often elusive.

My observations tell me that one of the harmony-stealing culprits is the accelerated pace our society lives in. As our world speeds up, our time seems to shrink.

Secondly, we live in a world of "option overload." We are faced daily with a myriad of people, things and distractions--all vying for our time and attention. If you don't plan your day, other people will. And if you're not careful, you'll find yourself cramming your days full of things that take more than they give.

It's easy to over commit.

Like going through the line in the cafeteria, we pile our plates high, even though much of the "food" fails to satisfy. We over indulge, and life is less fulfilling and more pressured.

The answer: greater focus. Commit to less so that you may finish more. Place as much emphasis and importance on "being" as on "doing."

You've heard it before: we're human beings... not human doings. Schedule your quiet time because it will pay BIG dividends.

Find your passion. Determine what is truly important for you. Anything that is not taking you in the direction of this passion becomes secondary (if it even has a place in your life at all).

Learn to say "No" kindly and respectfully.

If you choose to assist others in providing harmony in their life, to allow them to do all of the above (have family time and freedom, a rewarding career, health and fitness), then congratulations!

But you cannot give what you do not have.

You will never be blessed when out of integrity. In other words, you will never be blessed when you preach what you don't practice.

Become truly successful in all five areas of Harmonic Wealth: financial, relational, intellectual, physical and spiritual... And I guarantee you'll have a fulfilling and long-lasting life. Make your life magnificent!
